Gordon Monro is a digital media artist who lives in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. Gordon has a background in science and mathematics; he became involved in electronic and computer music in the 1990s, and eventually undertook a Masters in Music (Composition) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, which he completed in 2007. During his Masters studies Gordon worked on abstract videos, and since then he has become increasingly involved with visual art. He is currently undertaking a PhD in the Faculty of Art and Design, Monash University, working on computer-generated art. Gordon commenced exhibiting in art galleries in 2008.

Winner of the University of Ballarat Emerging Artist Prize, St Patrick’s College Art Exhibition, Ballarat.

Small grant from the Music Board of the Australia Council (category New Media).

Work chosen for concert of brainwave sonifications in the Sydney Opera House, for the 2004 International Conference on Auditory Display
